The oldest of the main Hawaiian islands provides exclusive resorts, exquisite beaches and exciting shows, and probably more opportunities to experience "natural Hawai'i" than any other island. Secret beaches, secluded waterfalls and scenic overlooks are everywhere. It is the perfect spot to really get away from it all.

Our adventure in paradise started a few days before Christmas 2003 and ended after New Year's Day 2004. During those two weeks we rode on helicopters and catamarans, climbed up into canyons and crawled down into caves. And one of us had a narrow escape from death.
